linen not lenin

I recently found my way to a a store whose sign has lots of words on it I can't read, but two of the words I can read are Textile, Home and Manufacture. Tons of great Williams Sonoma-worthy--they source their linen from Russia--fabrics and I thought the prices were shockingly low. Hardly anything was more than $3 a yard. It took me a while to figure out the system: you look through samples, then write down the number of the cloth you want, then tell the lady behind one of three counters, depending on what the number of your desired fabric is, how many yards you want. She finds the bolt in the stacks kept behind her counter, cuts it and gives you a slip of paper with the price. You go to a separate counter and pay. Then back to the fabric-cutting lady with your reciept. They had an amazing selection of buttons and nice wool yarn for $3 a skein, too. I bought four yards of this floral linen for around $12.
